The 'Conference' was established under the Anglo-Irish Agreement of 15 November 1985. The 'Conference' deals with matters within Northern Ireland especially those related to the minority community and also with matters of concern to both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland such as cross-border co-operation.
