An organisation established in 1969 which amalgamated a number of West Belfast community and defence groups. The first Chairman of the CCDC was Jim Sullivan. The CCDC highlighted the alleged excesses of British troops in the 34 hour curfew of the Falls Road, Belfast, in July 1970. The headquarters of the CCDC was bombed in an attack in November 1973.
