The Northern Ireland regional television service of the Independent Television (ITV) company. Unlike the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) which receives its funding through the television licence, the ITV company relies on income from advertising. The UTV company broadcasts a number of documentaries, political and current affairs series, as well as its local news programming.
